At Quigley Acres, nestled in the rolling wooded hills and valleys of the Cumberland Plateau in Northwest Tennessee, our passion for Barbados Blackbelly sheep began long before the first animals ever set foot on the farm. After months of research, farm visits, and careful evaluation of the breed’s unique qualities, our first five registered Barbados Blackbelly sheep arrived in October 2024. Their arrival marked the beginning of a focused and purposeful breeding program dedicated to preserving and strengthening this remarkable heritage breed. Our first lambs were born in early 2025, and since then we have continued to expand our flock with thoughtfully selected additions from diverse bloodlines to ensure strong genetics and adherence to breed standards.
Quigley Acres is committed to producing high-quality, registered Barbados Blackbelly breeding stock. Every lamb born here is raised with careful attention to conformation, temperament, and the traits that make this breed so valued by shepherds across the country. As proud members of the Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association International (BBSAI) since our inception in 2024, we participate in the annual meeting and contribute to the Genetics Committee through support of the BBSAI's ongoing genetic fingerprinting study—efforts that strengthen the breed not only on our farm, but nationwide. At Quigley Acres, we are building more than a flock—we are cultivating a legacy of care, quality, and commitment to one of the world’s most resilient and distinctive sheep breeds.
